In a rehabilitation study in four Norwegian municipalities, Lyng and Svingen (2004) followed up 35 old adults identified with SDSL with assessments, interventions and follow up over a two-years period.
The rehabilitation process was based on the person’s own active participation and decisions. In addition to information about their own evaluation of their vison and hearing, the interview-guide collected information about areas of interests and activities and their motivation and importance in the domains of:
- communication (including conditions)
- access to information (visual, auditory and tactile)
- ADL
- orientation and mobility
It also collected background data about their houshold, living conditions, social networks, health and received care.
